Why Should You Have An Eyebrow Lift?

There are multiple reasons leading to brow lift and some of them can be psychological or physical and all the reasons leading to the operation will be considered by doctors and given special treatment. Some of these reasons are:

  • If sagging eyebrows affect vision.

  • Eyebrows are incompatible with other facial features.

  • Too much sagging as it affects the psychological statuses of the patient.

During Eyebrow Surgery

After all the examination regarding the eyebrow, a lifting operation is performed. And the patients are prepared for the operation. Depending on the patient's case, doctors will decide whether local or general anesthesia will be performed. And there are two types of eyebrow surgery whose technique is based on the patient's choice:

  • Golden strings (non-surgical): This process takes 10-15 minutes and the eyebrows will be moved to the desired position and no incisions will be opened in this technique. And the results of this surgery last 3-6 years depending on the amount of eyebrow movement. And after this period, the patient can redo the operation.

  • Surgical eyebrow lift: This technique allows doctors to open 0.2 cm incisions at the end of the eyebrow area and then remove the extra skin. Then the doctors embed the skin together. This operation usually takes an hour.

The patient will leave the hospital the same day of the operation.

After Eyebrow Surgery Operation

Care after the operation is important to ensure the best results after the operation. Here are the essential instructions to follow:

  • Cold compresses should be present in the eyelid area in the first 48 hours of the operation, then gradually warm compresses to speed up the recovery processes.

  • Smoking and alcohol should be avoided.

  • The head should be raised during the operation and during sleep.

  • Do not apply pressure to the operation area.

  • Avoid intense sport during the first weeks of the operation.

  • Avoid washing your head for the first three days after the operation.  

  • The operation area should be clean.
